Engineers adopt powerful new design tools, software, in race with complexity

Software, design and engineering professionals network in Silicon Valley April 7–9 at the 20th Congress on the Future of Engineering Software (COFES).

The technology challenge they face? Keeping up with soaring design complexity in end products. A few trends: mechanical designs are more intricate; electronic designs with complex software; and high-level system designs that tax simulation and modeling techniques.

To keep up the software engineering ecosystem is adopting new tools. Elizabeth Baron, Principal of Immersionary Enterprises, LLC, Monday night’s keynoter, will explore the capabilities of one of these new approaches: how immersive reality-based visualization tools are used to create a more collaborative engineering process.

Other topics include a presentation by Paul Maher, General Manager, Industry Experiences, Cloud + AI at Microsoft. His subject is the changing shop floor “What Does the Manufacturer of the Future Look Like?”

Also noteworthy, CEO/Founder, IntrinSIM addresses the topic “Advancing the Simulation Revolution,” and Jay Vleerschhouwer, Research Analyst at Griffin Securities, will deliver “A Brief View from Wall Street.”
