Mumbai plans world-class innovation park

 

India's most populous city, Mumbai, may soon have a world class Innovation Park, where 25,000 scientific experts from over 100 countries will work. 


Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan has given nod to set up world class Innovation Park in Mumbai, an official release said, adding the 
Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) will set up the park. 

 
The park will have pharma, bio-technology functional food, bio-polymer microelectronics, embedded system, water technology, clean technology, energy, fuel cell, digital media and health sectors. 

The Innovation Park will become home to a new research and development center where 25,000 scientific experts from over 100 countries will work and will enhance the gross domestic production of the country and will create nearly 100,000 jobs. 

The park also will have an International Convention Center, International Research Center, Business Incubator, Design Institute and Language Center. 

Maharashtra will become an important global destination for scientific conventions. In next three to five years, it will help increase gross domestic production of the state, the release said.
